Chukwuma Soludo, former Nigerian Central Bank governor, gave an insight into how big Nnamdi Kanu and the issue of Biafra have become in world today; and called for his immediate release. Kanu is leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and Soludo described him as the number political prisoner in the world today.
One thing Nigerian rulers appear not to have learnt is that whoever sows to the flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the spirit will from the spirit reap eternal life. That Biblical wisdom is from the book of Galatians 6:8. Biafra is a spirit, and you cannot toy with it and hope to get away. Today, Nigeria is suffering the repercussion for holding Kanu.

October 14, marked exactly one year of the illegal detention of the Biafran leader, who also is the Director of Radio Biafra, and Biafra Television.  He was kidnapped on his way back to Biafraland from his London base by Nigerian Department of State Security (DSS) on the order of Chief terrorist Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s most incompetent president.

Kanu is a great and selfless Biafran that sacrificed his well-being for the emancipation of, not only Biafrans, but the entire black race. Part of why his abductors have been holding him is because they want him away from his microphone. With his microphone, he has constantly charge Africans to do away with mental slavery and to stand against subjugation of any kind whether from fellow Africans or from foreigners. He always charged his listeners not to be fearful before his enemies, but that they should always be ready to take risks for the general good; and tell the truth at all times. He told them that any sacrifice for the deliverance of one’s own people was a noble action that everyone should not shy of doing.

Kanu’s illegal detention attracted huge condemnation from all over the world, and many called for his release. As the head of the most virulent Nigerian government, after Olusegun Obasanjo, and Sani Abacha, Buhari have so far refused to release him. He was adamant, even after the courts, twice, ordered for his release. Unknowingly to him, he was making him the number prisoner of conscience in Nigerian history, which has not escaped the notice of the world.

Judges handling his case were financially influenced, and those who refused were physically assaulted by the DSS. It is on record that Buhari appeared on national television on December 31, 2015, vowing that he would rather die than allow Nnamdi Kanu go free. The reason he gave for the illegal statement was that Kanu had dual citizens and therefore owned dual passport – British and Nigerian. He equally boasted that Nigerian unity was indispensable and non-negotiable. He considered it an affront that the “small boy” that did not see the war or fight in it would be demanding for the disintegration of the country – his fore-father’s estate.

His disrespectful fort the Judiciary on that day, and other statements of subsequent days, proved to a lot of the people the danger the Judiciary was in. from that day it became apparent that he was determine to play the role of the judge and the jury with his government. Today, the Judiciary of the evil contraption called Nigeria is bleeding. He has reduced the Judiciary to nothing as he refuses to obey any court order that does not favour his government. He now abducts Judges in commando style in the dead of the night just to get at those who refused to follow his dictates. That was how Judges that judged against his government, like Justice Ademola of the Federal High Court for ordered for the release of the Biafran leader, were abducted in the dead of night.

Unfortunately for Buhari and Nigeria, Kanu’s profile continues to rise across the world, and it has become certain that the longer they keep him behind bars the quicker Biafra will come. So, let them do whatever they like, Nnamdi Kanu must be free!
