BIAFRA: Once upon a time, after the amalgamation of the Biafrans, with the Northern and Western part of the expired contraption called Nigeria, the victimisations of Biafrans, became active and a form of culture, which has been in maintenance till date. The victimised people were being slaughtered and butchered mostly in the Northern part of the zoo called Nigeria. The suffering of Biafrans became the order of the day. Worst still, the leaders of the country, were mute, therefore automatically in peace with the provocative way, in which Biafrans were in order. The victimisation of innocent Biafrans has been the priority of Nigeria, starting from inception. The 1966 anti-Biafra pogrom was a series of massacres directed at innocent people of Biafran origin living in northern Nigeria began in May 1966 and reached a peak after 29 September 1966. During this period 30,000-50,000 Biafran civilians were murdered throughout northern Nigeria by Hausa–Fulani soldiers and civilians who sought revenge for the 1966 Nigerian coup, which involves only two people from Igbo extraction, and more of Western Nigerians, and resulted in the deaths of 11 Nigerian politicians and army officers.
Biafrans were meant to suffer the consequences alone, even if they were not the only masterminders of that crime. This is to tell you that Biafrans are always victims in the contraption. The then Governor of the Southern protectorate, Gen. Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu Chukwuemeka, being a man who has his people at heart and a man who understands the rights of individuals, aggressively ordered all the Biafrans to come back home, to be safe. These events led to the secession of the eastern Nigerian region and the declaration of the Republic of Biafra, which ultimately resulted in the Nigeria-Biafra war, as declared by Gowon the then head of State. The 1966 massacres of innocent Biafrans have been described as a holocaust by some authors and have variously been described as riots, pogroms or genocide.
This incident became an archive of the pogrom that wiped out millions of innocent Biafran women, infants and children; Yakubu Gowon's-led genocidal campaign against the Biafran Nation and Obafemi Awolowo's orchestrated Economic Blockade which desperately starved the children of Biafra to death. The unprofessional attitude of some elements of the international press are also known to have added to the existing tension, and also, an intentional move, inorder to keep us media blackout. Biafrans were killed, slaughtered like animals. We were spontaneously disorganised, as before the declaration of our first existing nation, before the creation of Nigeria.
The world has indefinitely forgotten these gory events that took place, they have so quickly forgotten that innocent children, men and women were massacred in cold blood. One should not be sceptical about the emergence of Biafra, after what happened. The death of more than 6 million people can not be in vain. Nature can never forgive us if we refuse to get justice for them. Their blood still flows till date. Their tears, still quench our lights at night. We have sworn to fight for what they died for, even unto death. Our only quest is to get Biafra. The only remedy to this pain is "THE RESTORATION OF BIAFRA".
The UN charted law, which declared self-determination a fundamental law, that must be ordered for the Indigenous People, has become our back bone. Biafrans have every right to exit from this contraption called Nigeria. We are challenging the intellects, NBA, the NCJ, activists, to come out boldly and tell us where and when self-determination is now a crime. People are entitled to their choices of life. In the absence of that, they should better lecture the illiterate, Muhammadu Buhari, who has no epitome of conscience to think twice. I wonder why those who are more enlightened, could allow an illiterate to control their freedom.
Life without freedom is worst than hell. We are like wild animals, caged up in the zoo. We have come to realise our real foundation, and that's the reason, we can never fumble, nor retrace our actions. The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been in the detention, for more than a year, without any justification, to prove the alleged charge brought against him. Many Biafrans have gone missing, while many killed and dumped in secret places. This is why we are not retreating. Nigeria has definitely, proven to the whole world that she is above the law. Or should I say that Nigeria owns the law? Hence the world has refused to address this issue, they are probably telling us that Nigeria is above them.
Injustice is a crime, and also a big time bomb that can explode at any given hour. Let's be presumptuous that anything funny should happen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; the world will hear from us because we have been patients enough, for them to address this issue. We are entitled to live, just the way, Britain exercised their rights, in exiting the European Union. Why should our case be different? We seek for justice, and that's all we want. The Nigerian military should note that we are only diplomatic and that they can't face more than sixty million Biafrans, should we take up arms. We are only civil and different from the animals in the zoo. We seek for freedom, and justice, for honour should be given to whom it's due.

STRIKE TEAM THREE STRIKES.

At about 11.45pm November 15, 2016, our Elite Strike Team 03 struck Nembe 1, 2 and 3 truck line operated by Agip, Oando and Shell with supply capacity of 300,000 barrel per day to Bonny export terminal in Bayelsa State. 

This is in response to the so-called " Operations Sharkbite" an art of terrorism commissioned by the tyranny of the Nigerian Navy establishment and orchestrated by some elements of the ruling political class to continuously undermine any effort by the Nigerian state to addressing the legitimate demands of the people of the Niger Delta and as well a conspiracy to bloat the accounts of some security contractors and conflict merchants within the party structure of the APC.

We are only reiterating our strong resolve that, time is running against the Nigerian government, that there is doom ahead. The Nigerian government need our cooperation more than we need the government as it concerns the extraction of the crude oil and hydrocarbon resources in our God-given land. 

We are determined to continue this war by all means necessary, until that environment prevails for a genuine dialogue and negotiations within the framework of the sixteen point key demands presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by PANDEF on the 1st of November 2016.

We want the peace with honour, we don't want the Peace of Our Time. Since that moment military was drafted into the Niger Delta as an instrument of suppression to our fatherland against all peaceful protest and legitimate demands the fear had gone. The message is getting stronger with more messengers.

  • DON'T BLAME NDA


We all know that Peace is not the absence of war. Sincerely speaking, the High Command of the Niger Delta Avengers cannot be blamed for the continuous bombing of crude oil export pipelines and other oil installations, since the Government has been relentlessly carrying out military build ups to continuously harass communities and indigenes of the Niger Delta after the November 1st meeting of the PANDEF and President Muhammadu Buhari. We see this as a deliberate move by the military establishment to undermine any effort of dialogue and negotiations with the people of the Niger Delta.

The path to sustain the cessation of hostilities in the region among fighters and structures cannot be achieved overnight, when there are clear cases of deliberate security surge by the Nigerian government.  We ask for understanding on the side of the PANDEF and the general public. 

The High Command of the NDA is only reacting to government’s deliberate attempts to undermine the process to dialogue and negotiations. It will make a lot of sense on the part of the government of president   Muhammadu Buhari to restrain the security agents/agencies from engaging in activities that are inimical to the process, the people and communities of the Niger Delta. 

There was high hope and expectations from the people of the Niger Delta after the November 1st meeting between PANDEF and President Muhammadu Buhari for a genuine dialogue and negotiations process to kick-start. Instead the government's security establishment is busy building up clogs to the process that will place our people at position of weakness which is unacceptable to us and  so, there is bound  to  be equal reaction.

The idea of communicating with our fathers, leaders and royal fathers under the leadership of Papa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark’s PANDEF before acting will only amount to mere propaganda   while the head is being cut off. We believed that our fathers, leaders and royal fathers are ready to meet the government of Nigeria with representatives of IOCs and the neutral observers but not with guns, warships and jet fighters terrorizing their communities which of course is one of the sixteen points key demands presented to Mr. President, So the government should stop the ostrich game.

We did not start this struggle for the sake of bearing arms against the Nigeria state; it is a reaction to many years of orchestrated state economic and constitutional colonialism against a region and its people over six decades. Until the burning issues of resources control, fiscal federalism and inclusive development are addressed no force will stop this struggle even with bare hands. The government of Nigeria is running against time by undermining the resolve of the Niger Delta. The government needs the Niger Delta more than we need the government.

A careful analysis of the directive by general Muhammadu Buhari, to the security agencies to identify militant leaders and their camps shows that, the man do not have any sense of history and apology for the roles he played in the killing of innocent civilians and Ken Saro Wiwa in Ogoni that were carrying out a peaceful protest in 1995.  

President Muhammadu Buhari should think before he act on this his fifth journey into national affairs. Those obnoxious strategies like Choke Points, Operations Delta Safe, Operations Crocodiles Smiles etc, are doomed to fail like Operations Hakuri II, he engineered and administered under general Sani Abacha. Even the security hierarchy is also sympathizing with his inhuman dispositions to the Niger Delta question. That is more of the reasons the High Command of the DNA has given the clear directive to all field officers to avoid confrontation with security agencies in their line of duty.

The everyday deployment of military hardwares, houseboat, personnel etc is a dilemma of government insensitivity and incapacity to the legitimate demands by the Niger Delta people since 1994 under general Sani Abacha. 

The Niger Delta struggle is the people's project. So, the more groups that are involved the more the festivity. There will be no cold war with any group and groupings no matter the circumstances of their emergence and their modus operandi.

ABUJA—AHEAD of their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, tomorrow, strong indications emerged, yesterday, that elders, leaders and stakeholders of the Niger Delta Region have rejected the Federal Government’s move to launch a $10 billion (N4 trillion) infrastructural rebirth investment programme in the area.

The multi-trillion naira programme is part of the Short and Medium Term Priorities to Grow Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Industry (2015 to 2019), tagged the ‘7 BigWins’, a new initiative of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Dismissing the proposal as a blackmail since there is no money to fund it, the Niger-Delta leaders said it is imperative to tell President Buhari that they are rejecting the move because it is private sector-driven with the aim of dragging the government into it.

“At the end of the day, other Nigerians will say why complain when you have $10 billion and the money is not there in the first place. If the companies have such money, they should pay the money owed the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, rather than blackmail the region with such money,” they said. These are part of the issues that would be raised with President Buhari tomorrow.

These were also some of the resolutions at the end of a meeting held at the residence of the convener, Chief Edwin Clark at his 43, Haile Selassie Street, Asokoro, Abuja in the wee hours of Saturday.

Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader, will  lead about 46 traditional rulers, elders and leaders drawn from the academia, civil society, freedom fighters and ethnic nationalities of the six South-South states to meet President Buhari tomorrow.

The leaders said it would be blackmail for the people of the Niger Delta as they were not consulted before the decision was taken and announced, adding that the people should have been carried along and their inputs obtained because they know the problems of the region.

Canvassing a bottoms-up approach instead of a top-bottom strategy, the leaders noted that the people of the region are suffering from oil exploitation, while mining is going on in the North without anyone harassing the people.

‘Let Maritime varsity remain, no to polytechnic’ 

The elders also urged President Buhari to jettison moves to change the Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu, Delta State to a polytechnic, against the backdrop that the government did not consult with the people of the region.

The region is also seeking for a special Marshal plan for the Niger Delta, review of the amnesty programme and the need to have a ministerial department that will always be a platform for discussion by the people of the region.

Leaders to meet Buhari

Expected at the parley are the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli; Obong of Calabar, Ekpo Abasi – Otu V; Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Major-General Felix Mujakperuo, retd; first Military Governor of old Rivers State and Amanyanabo of Twon-Brass, King Alfred Papapreye Diete-Spiff; and His Royal Majesty, Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu among others.

Also to attend tomorrow’s meeting are former Akwa Ibom governor, Obong Victor Attah; Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, Professor G.G. Darah, Chief Timi Alaibe, Ambassador Godknows Igali, Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, Chief TKO Okorotie, Hon. Justice Francis Tabai, High Chief Mike Ekayama Loyibo, T.K. Ogoriba, High Chief Wellington Okirika, Chief  Justice CET Ayama (retd), Dr. Alfred Mulade, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, MOSOP leader, Ledum Mitee, former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke; Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo; Brigadier Gen. Idada Ikponmwen, Senator Rowland Owie, Tony Uranta, Chief Dan Ikpebide and Senator Bassey Henshaw among others.

Agenda for meeting 

The elders and leaders at the meeting will engage the President on the need for Justice, equity, fairness, confidence-building and consultations with Niger-Delta people prior to taking decisions on their problems.

Other issues to be raised at the parley include the need for restructuring the country and the zone; implementation of the 2014 National Conference report, the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, appointments of board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC where membership must reflect oil producing areas, and the need to perfect the protocol of memorandum of understanding, MOU on the ceding of Bakassi, because if not addressed, the people of the area stand the risk of not having a country.

The problem in Gbaramatu with military allegedly harassing the people would also be presented before the President. After tomorrow’s meeting, the elders and leaders will ask for an executive session with the President where meaningful discussions would take place.

Niger-Delta now speaks with one voice – Clark 

In his remark at the meeting, Chief Clark, who noted that the issue of not having representatives to negotiate with government for Niger Delta people was gone, saying the people are ready for negotiation. He said if there were issues, the meeting will not be the last, adding that the people are one family, though they are from different communities. The elder statesman, who stressed the need for unity of purpose, said the people were not fighting the President but wanted government to carry them along.

His words: “We are going to ask for justice, fairness and equity. We are going to tell him that he should dialogue with the people of the Niger Delta and that the use of force is not and cannot be a solution to the Niger Delta crisis.

“He is our President. We will pledge our loyalty to him. We will congratulate him on his election because this is the first time we are seeing him as a people since he won. We are not going to be submitting any long list of demands to him, but we will let him know the need for him to carry the people of Niger Delta along in his government. They should take us as a people who are part of Nigeria.

We are not separating from Nigeria. “It is obvious that the country requires true federalism to move forward. We will tell him that and that is the same thing other parts of the country are asking for. If there is true federalism, we will not have a case of states not being able to pay salaries or maintain themselves. Those (states) that cannot stand on their own will join others.

“Of course, we are going to talk to him about the need to develop Niger Delta. The problem is not lack of ideas on what should be done, the Mitee Technical Committee Report on Niger Delta in 2009 and others are there; the problem is lack of political will to develop the region.”

One group for all of N-Delta 

Before the Saturday meeting, Niger Delta leaders and stakeholders, to enable them speak with one voice, came up with a position against those who they accused of using divide and rule tactics against the region.

They decided to fuse all the separate groups into one umbrella body, Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PNDF. The groups included the Pan-Niger Delta States Consultative Forum, led by Clark, the Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group, NDDCG, led by King Alfred Diete-Spiff, and a new group that was facilitated by the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.

Other groups that collapsed into the PNDF were the Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria, TROMPCON, Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM, Initiative for Peace, Governance and Development, South-South Consolidated Forum among others.

University status not affected  – Kachikwu 

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has cleared the air on the apprehension that erupted, weekend, in the Niger Delta, over purported downgrade of the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, Okerenkoko, in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, to a polytechnic, saying the Federal Government’s action does not affect the status of the institution as a university.

The people of Gbaramatu, speaking through one of their leaders, Chief Godspower Gbenekema and spokesperson of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Mr. Eric Omare, yesterday, hit the roof over alleged downgrading of the institution from university to polytechnic.

Kachikwu, who is facilitating the meeting of Niger Delta leaders with President Buhari, tomorrow, told Vanguard: “The status has not changed; I said with the facility in place now; we can start a campus version of the university on a polytechnic level until we build up.”

It’s objectionable – Omare 

IYC spokesperson, Mr. Omare, in a statement, said:  “The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide rejects in its entirety the proposal by the Federal Government to downgrade the Maritime University, Okerenkoko to Higher National Diploma awarding institute under the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR).

“This proposal which is contained in the Niger Delta and Security column of the ‘7 big wins’ initiative by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu and launched by President Buhari on Thursday, the 27th of October, 2016 in the Presidential Villa is totally unacceptable to the Niger Delta people.

“There is no single justification to downgrade the Maritime University, Okerenkoko which is an existing university by National Universities Commission (NUC) records under the Ministry of Transportation to an institute under the Ministry of Petroleum. It is unprecedented for an existing university with degree awarding status to be downgraded to an institute.

“This move also demonstrates that the Buhari government is not sincerely committed to resolving the Niger Delta crisis despite efforts by stakeholders of the region to support the government as this unpopular and anti-Niger Delta decision was reached without consultation with the people of the region.

“The insincerity on the part of the Federal Government is capable of escalating the already volatile situation in the Niger Delta despite the efforts of leaders and stakeholders of the region.

“The insincerity of the federal government is further buttressed by the much publicized $10bn intervention fund for the Niger Delta. The way and manner government publicized this intervention fund would seem as if the fund would be released instantly to start the development process, whereas it is a 10-year initiative with no guaranteed source of funding. All the identified sources of funding are vague and unpredictable without stakeholders’ input. Therefore, the IYC regards this effort more as a propaganda strategy by the Federal Government rather than a genuine effort towards the development of the Niger Delta region.

” It’s ridiculous, insulting – Gbenekema 

Chief Gbenekama, the Ibe Benemowei of Gbaramatu kingdom, who spoke on phone to Vanguard from Abuja, said:  “It has come to our knowledge that on October 27, 2016, the Federal Government launched a book entitled ‘7 Big Wins to grow the oil sector,’ as presented by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu.

“Among these ‘7 big wins’ is the issue of Niger Delta and Security. Under Niger Delta and Security, we discovered that one item is the Okerenkoko Maritime University. In presenting the decision of the Federal Government, Dr Ibe Kachikwu stated that the Ministry of Petroleum has taken over the issue of Okerenkoko Maritime University and that the government had decided to reduce the Okerenkoko Maritime University, which was a degree awarding university to a polytechnic that will award OND and HND.

“This presentation was sanctioned by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. As critical stakeholders and immediate host to the Maritime University, Okerenkoko, we find this presentation and plan annoying, disturbing, disgraceful, insulting and dehumanizing.

“The issue of the Okerenkoko Maritime University was supposed to be a pre-Niger Delta, Federal Government parley agenda, which was part of the low-hanging fruits that the Federal Government was supposed to deal with to build trust before the Niger Delta leaders and Federal Government discussions and signpost that government will be serious with the discussions, but to our surprise, without consultations, the government has gone ahead to take a decision reducing the university to a Petroleum Ministry- run polytechnic that would award OND and HND certificates.

“Whatever would have gone wrong with the maritime university that made the Federal Government to reduce the status to a polytechnic is what any serious minded Niger Deltan and Gbaramatu man in particular cannot understand. For avoidance of doubt, we reject this plan of the Federal Government.

“We are not good enough to be educated, our areas is not good enough to be developed, both infrastructural and human capital development, which is the reason the federal, through its militarization policy of the Niger Delta has rendered all our primary and secondary schools ineffective. The height of it is to cancel the Maritime University which the immediate past administration sited at Okerenkoko with take-off campus at Kurutie in Gbaramatu kingdom,” he said.

Militants continue bombing despite Buhari’s meeting with N-Delta leaders 

Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, NDGJM, a militant group in Delta State, went ahead with destruction of oil facilities in Niger Delta region, weekend, despite the meeting tomorrow, between President Buhari and Niger Delta monarchs, leaders and stakeholders in Abuja.

The group, in a statement by self-styled General Aldo Agbalaja, yesterday, said: “At about 23:30 hours of Saturday, October 29, in furtherance of the Operation Hammurabi Code, our Akuma Strike Team struck and brought down the 32-inch Effurun-Otor delivery line.” In the statement, entitled: “This is not ending soon, we shall fulfill our promise of uprooting your entire assets in our land,” the militant group said: “We are reiterating our unflinching belief that the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, being coordinated by E.K Clark is a job and, therefore, can never get our support.

“Like we said before now, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate is not opposed to a genuine dialogue between the Federal Government and real representatives of the various nations of our region. “We are collecting names from the nations in the region, those who will sincerely and equitably represent our various peoples,” he added.

Sometime last year, the notorious eader of the dreaded militants who terrorized Ogun and Lagos states from the creeks of Arepo and Ibafo, called on phone identifying himself in a typically hoarse voice as ‘De don of Militants in Nigeria.’ Threatening fire and brimstone, he warned security agencies to get off the creeks or they would meet their waterloo. 

After explaining that he got my telephone number from the pages of Saturday Vanguard, he swore to make the two states ungovernable if security operatives failed to stop raiding the creeks and allow them to continue with oil bunkering unchallenged. He even promised to reward this reporter handsomely if he could avail them with certain security information, a request that was rebuffed immediately. 

However, the cat and mouse game continued until the ‘day of the jackal’, which was the day jet fighters unleashed bombs ceaselessly into the creeks which the militants had earlier boasted was impenetrable. On the second day of the raid, De don called this reporter again lamenting the carnage being carried out on their abode when, suddenly, his telephone went dead amidst a barrage of bombardments from Air force planes. 

There was a deafening silence and it appeared De don may have been killed. He did not call again and all calls to his line failed. Then, midnight last Monday, his voice rang out again but from a different number to re-assure that he was alive. However, he stated that the essence of the call was to beg for amnesty from the government alongside other top ‘Generals’ who survived the military onslaught inside the creeks. 

Interestingly, one of the other ‘Generals’ who also spoke on phone after De don turned out to be the most wanted and deadly kidnap kingpin in the country, ‘General’ Ossy, whose exploits in the criminal world in the past two years had jolted security agencies to their wits’ end. The two militant ‘Generals’, on one hand, made passionate appeals for amnesty while on the other hand, warned that hell would be let loose if their request was turned down. 

Excerpts: 

How we started bunkering business I am General Ossy Ibori. I am 40 years old. We are from Niger Delta region, from Isaac Boro’s hometown. We started this business of bunkering in 1998 here in Lagos during which we had an agreement with the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) to settle them. In those days, we were giving the OPC between N250, 000 to N350, 000 every night before the mobile policemen later came on the scene. That was in 2001 and 2002. After paying them the money, they would allow us to do our bunkering work but later they killed our brothers.

This infuriated us because the killings were done after  collecting bribe from us. So we decided to come together to fight it. I even tried to reach an agreement with them to allow peace reign but they later conspired with the police in Lagos state including operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and Anti- Vandals unit some of whom started collecting bribe from us also. 

Then, the Mobile police and Federal SARS came to us at Abule Egba, and Arepo where we were doing our business and reached an agreement with us as they also started collecting bribe from us. We were giving them N2 million every night. That was during the era of a top Commissioner of Police (name withheld). Again, these people too conspired and arraigned some of our brothers in court. Shortly after arresting some of our brothers and collecting bribe from them, the police stormed the area, killing innocent people. 

How we subdued the police 

We went to the police and tried to find out why they arrested our brothers, collected bribe from them but still went ahead to kill them. When we saw that they were ready to arrest us as well, we now launched an attack and exchanged fire with them before we subdued them. This happened in 2013 and the following year, we came back to work but the people we were working with complained that the area had become dangerous, arguing that if they came to us we would kill them. 

We then decided to go to them and settle them. Then, the Nigerian Army was sent to stop our bunkering but they allowed us to continue after we started to settle them also. The army also, at a stage, conspired with the people and they were no longer giving us access to the area we wanted, so we resolved to fight for our rights and started doing things to draw government’s attention to us but government refused to listen to us. 

Then we began to attack pipelines, Federal SARS and Civil Defence just to attract government’s attention but the government ignored us. After a while, the government now sent a delegate to us that they wanted to give us amnesty. It was one Colonel whose name I cannot remember again. He claimed to have come from the amnesty office. We started the negotiation but later found out that he was a betrayer and the whole thing ended like that. Apart from that Colonel, one Captain Okotie, also came whom we strongly believed to be a fraudster. 

That was when we started operating in Lagos and Ogun states. We operated in Irekpete, Gburumu, Arepo, Ibafo, Majidun, Ajegunle and Abule Egba. We were trying to fight for our rights by attacking the government, bursting oil pipelines, kidnapping and robbing the residents so that the government could pay attention to us but it’s unfortunate that they did not. Now, we are very much ready to dialogue with the government and to make sure that none of such things happen again. 

Our activities in 2015 and 2016 (De don takes over) 

I am General Don. I am 45 years old. We are ready to allow peace to reign and guarantee the safety of oil pipelines. Before, when we came to work, we used to settle those people. Meanwhile, we have members in FESTAC, Arepo and Abule Egba. This is how we used to do the business. We used to vandalize oil pipelines, siphon the oil. But when they stopped pumping the oil, we then started kidnapping and armed robbery. We robbed so many banks in Lagos. 

We started kidnapping in 2015, we kidnapped in FESTAC and Epe areas of Lagos. If government does not pay attention to us soon, robbery and kidnapping will resume at a very alarming rate. We are determined to make peace reign between Lagos and Ogun states. So, let their governments come and dialogue with us. If that is done, all these things will not happen again. We will come together with the security operatives and work hard to ensure absolute peace within the region. 

How Nigerian Air Force bombarded our camp 

On Thursday evening, June 23rd 2016, while we were in the camp, we saw a jet displaying in the air and we asked ourselves, what is this that’s displaying in the air? Shortly, we discovered that it was a fighter jet. Before we could figure out what it was up to, they started bombing our camp. They bombed the first camp in Irekpete. We lost nine souls in that place, which was the first day. The second day, after shooting, we went out and discovered the corpses of four children and few women. 

After five days, when they came back with heavy bombardment, we now started escaping from the forest because the bombing was too much for us. We left the area where we were working to the other side. During the air raid, none of our generals died. Even those who died were not part of us, they were innocent people. They killed mostly Yorubas and some other few tribes. We still have 21 generals and 7,800 battle-ready boys. Even now as we are still in the forest, we can see everything the government is doing but we don’t want to cause problem again. 

How we escaped from the bombardment 

We believe so much in God., we work like spirit and disappear any time. God sets us free, we don’t have any spiritualist (Jujuman), we believe in God. We are members of different churches like Baptists, Redeemed, Cherubim and Seraphim. We used to pray before going on revenge mission. We call on God to help us out. We didn’t start the killing, they did by provoking us when the killed our brothers unjustly. Before we go to battle, we pray to God to help us because we are fighting for our rights. 

Is oil bunkering your right? 

So many youths and graduates are suffering without jobs and many are even managing this oil bunkering business in Lagos and Ogun states. We have more than 100 graduates working with us and earning their living. What else do you expect from us? Are we not part and parcel of this oil rich country? Are we not entitled to enjoy our natural resources? That is our right and nobody, I repeat, nobody can deny us that. 

We escaped with our weapons (General Ossy Ibori) 

We escaped the bombardment with a lot of weapons though not all. Right now, we have fire guns, artillery, GPMG, K2, Pump Action, Double Barrel and locally made guns. You can’t find out how we buy our arms, we won’t disclose it but we want the government to know that we are ready for peace. But if they fail to dialogue with us, we are ready to bring down the economy of Lagos and Ogun states. We can even vandalize pipelines but for now, we don’t want that to happen. 

We want dialogue but if they refuse to comply, we are ready to destroy the economy of these two states. We want the government to know that, we are human beings like them and we are suffering, the youths are suffering but we don’t want to kill innocent souls. We have been in the creeks for the past 18 years. Within this period, so many souls were lost there but we are just ready to dialogue with the government to let peace reign. 

We want amnesty 

We are not demanding monetary settlement, we are not demanding anything other than freedom and dialogue with the government. We want peace to reign. Secondly, we need amnesty as well as pipeline and waterways security. That will bring to an end kidnapping, armed robbery, bunkering and other criminal activities in the region. We are ready to stop all criminal activities. We are not money conscious, what we want is peace, we want dialogue first. If we are granted amnesty, we will be glad to provide security to oil installations. 

That’s what we want to do. We know much about the creeks and because of our expertise, we will like to work with the anti-vandalism team and the police to ensure absolute security in the creeks. Civil Defence’s claim that they chased us out of Arepo is not true. We are still in the creeks. We are even very close to them and if we decide to go offensive, we can even slaughter all of them, we can wipe all of them out of that area. We are together but we don’t want that to happen and that is why we want government to ensure there is peace here.

We are our own sponsors. We don’t have anybody in government or politician sponsoring our activities. We sponsor ourselves. Concerning our feeding, you won’t understand how we feed. We have enough money to feed ourselves. We have money to make problem with the government and to cripple the economy but we don’t want it to be that way. We have so many connections and I tell you that everything in Lagos belongs to us. If we are given amnesty nobody will kidnap, nobody will rob, nobody will vandalize. We know about every criminal activity in the region. If government is ready to dialogue with us, we will put a stop to everything. 

Our pains in the creeks 

We are in the creeks suffering. We cannot go out and enjoy with our families. If the government is ready for peace to reign in the creeks, we will have the opportunity to go out and meet with our various families. There is no single woman or children in our camps and you know what that means. It is only men who live in our camps. We have not got any chance to meet with women because we don’t go out. We don’t even see anyone in the creeks. Some of our brothers’ family members were arrested by the police. 

They are still being held by the police even as we speak while so many innocent people who are not even our members are still in police detention. But we are still in the creeks, and if we go out for any reason, we come back together. Nobody, not even army or police can come to the main creeks where we live unless we permit them. 

They can’t penetrate it on ground because of the weapons we have and the roads are made just for us alone. A stranger cannot just get in and when you force yourself in, you cannot find your way back unless such a person comes from the sky. Even at that, we will not allow it because of our latest weapons. If we don’t come out in the open, even fighter jet cannot get us where we are right now. 

Wanted General Ossy on why he has not been arrested 

That’s why I’m the Don, that is how it is supposed to be. The robbery incident that happened in FESTAC where a pregnant woman and her child were killed was an unfortunate incident. It was not deliberate. We can operate anywhere we want between Lagos and Ogun states. Concerning innocent people who lost their lives in the course of our operation, you can see that is how security agents used to kill our people. They collect bribe from us and then kill our brothers. 

They would even set fire in the area where we are engaging in bunkering. We are remorseful about the number of people we have unintentionally killed, it is better to leave it to God. We don’t kill innocently, we kill reasonably. Our main anger is that, after collecting bribe from us, the OPC, the police, army, and civil defence would turn around to kill our brothers and that is we decided to retaliate. 

Our regret 

Our worst regret since this fight with the security started is that, they are killing innocent Nigerians and we are also killing innocent Nigerians. They are Nigerians and we are also Nigerians. Our brothers that they have killed are also Nigerians. We lost our people and they also lost their people and this is not helping the country. That is why we want genuine dialogue that would bring this to an end. You can’t find out how rich we are, we are average people in terms of money. We cannot also expose our other businesses to the government.

President Muhammadu Buhari needs more money. Nigeria is in a financial mess and the economical predications are bleak. 
Buhari in a bid to offer Nigeria some appeasement, including plans to invest $10 billion to the Niger Delta areas of Biafra to end insurgency, has asked parliament on Tuesday to approve plans to borrow $30 billion. The money is needed to address a recession that has gripped the country for much of the year as a result of the freefall in the in the price of crude oil globally — nearly two-thirds of the Nigeria's government revenue is from the sale of oil. However, Buhari's borrowing request to parliament comes amid growing concerns about the competency of his administration. 
According to Reuters:  Buhari's plan, the $30 billion dollars will come from overseas lenders, such as the World Bank, and will include the sale of $4.5 billion worth of Eurobonds and a planned budget support of $3.5 billion. Buhari has already sent a draft budget for 2017 to parliament for approval, which includes the details for a record $22.55 billion stimulus aimed at pulling Nigeria out of its recession. LCC.

BIAFRA: My dear Niger Delta siblings have ignorantly forgotten the danger ahead of them, and they have dozed off, slumbering while the northern caliphate in the form of the military takes them one after the other. They have forsaken their originality and has taken up a different identity worthless in meaning. I often cry and mourn for those who has in one way or the order lost their lives, their loved ones or valued property because of their ignorance. Not fewer that two days ago, some military men shot dead two indigenes of Okarki, for nothing. These two young men were not seen stealing, they were not criminals, they were not Boko Haram members, they were not members of the opposition party of the ruling APC government. They were not kidnappers, they were not armed robbers, they were neither law breakers nor house paedophiles.
One would imagine or wondered what would have warranted such gruesome killing of two innocent young stars. Well, it will interest the world to know that the victims, by name Okowu Wisky and Izu Joseph, were non-violent people who met their sudden death at the spot. Izu Joseph was a football player with the Shooting Star football club in Ibadan before his premature death. He was said to have visited his hometown before the usual brutality of the Nigerian Army emerged, this time with a different strategy, of which claimed his dear life. The deceased, to some, were heroes, and to some, were breadwinners. But the Nigerian army has sent them to their early graves, without remorse nor pity. According to eyewitnesses, they were surrendered by the zoo army, and they were shot instantly, amid the identity card, which Izu Joseph showed them, signifying that he is a footballer. They shot aimed the bullet at them and went their ways since they have nothing to regret.
Where are those who are calling themselves Niger Delta? Where are those who have been brainwashed that their Igbo brothers or any other clan were their problem and enemy? Where are those who distance themselves from the Biafra struggle, claiming that Biafrans only wants their oil? Now the question is, if you so believed that Igbos and other clans from Biafra are your enemies, how many times have you seen or heard that Igbos invaded your lands, and killed your people? Who are killing you today? Of course, no other people that those who told you to avoid your people. The same people that separated you from your people, and gave you a meaningless name, which they can't even defend. This is the strategy they used on you only to have access to your mineral resources. Have you seen what your ignorance caused you? Two innocent stars gunned down, for no crime committed, while looters, fraudsters, criminals, are guarded and seen walking freely with impunity.
This is a big lesson to you Niger Delta. Wake up, for they have surrendered you. They have killed and maimed enough! Stand up, and join your family, which is Biafra. Open up your eyes, because tomorrow might be your turn. Get up, let's fight and stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Now is the right time, not tomorrow. Boko Haram members who have killed and wasted innocent lives and properties are freed. Not less than 1000 Boko Haram members have been released by the paedophile in power, President Muhammad Buhari. Nut they come down to our land, kill us, rape our wives, abuse our young daughter, they destroy our farmlands, and take our resources free of charge, only to use the money against us. I see this as a cowardice act. Where are those who are well learned? Where are those who claimed to be the best scholars? Now is revolution time.
Arise! Oh, ye so-called Niger Delta, for if you ignore this warning, it means you are doomed forever. Remember those who died? What about our wives who has been raped? Our children forceful converted to Muslims, why the intimidation, why the harassment? Let's join hands together, and fight for what is rightfully yours. It's our heritage, our possession, and our right. Wake up now, for tomorrow may be too late.

ND AVENGERS
Just recently I was told that Niger Delta Avengers wrote an open letter to the President of Nigeria; I reluctantly told my colleague to share the letter with me; which he did and as I angrily read between the lines; I felt a streaming cold down my spine; Ken Sarowiwa was mentioned; our father murdered by Nigerian leaders. I did not agree with the reality that Niger Delta Avengers wrote that letter; it is unlike our freedom fighters that don’t rant or talk too much. To pass any message; they use more than words; bomb a significant oil pipeline and then attach their message on the information that another boom! has occurred. But unlike them, I saw pages of words written to Buhari without any ‘more than words’ then I found it crucial to ask, where is Niger Delta Avengers? Any one that found them can deliver this message to be contained herein.

A shooting star football player was shot dead in our land; four bullets shot at him; this is premeditated murder in lush of anger. It is important to know that we learnt about this death because a star was killed. Do you know how many people being killed on daily basis without being reported? If 200 Biafrans are killed in Igweocha; do you think it will be reported? The reality is that there is a war going on against our people and it is time to wake up. Suddenly; you - Avengers stopped actions even when actions were badly needed; we have supported your agitation and this is a critical time to sustain all actions to curb our death. The heavy military presence on our land ends in our various homes; they can’t near the creeks and I wonder where you have gone.

In that letter written to the President of Nigeria; and in adherence to ceasefire for negotiation which I doubt you really took; you have really written instigating piece. I mean Ken Sarowiwa; our father, by the mention of his name; tears trickled down my eyes; I felt we are nothing but a species of terror in Nigeria. I want to transfer that emotion to you; the preamble of his speech on that fateful day; maybe you will be taught by it. Nigeria deserves not a moment of peace; the destruction of Nigeria is the only way our forefathers and children killed from 1966 to date can rest in peace. You have been lacking for a period of time now; I have not heard from you in the name of negotiation. When they had the time to negotiate with Ken Saroriwa; they only viciously murdered him. Why giving them hope or ears of negotiation? Why relenting when this is a proper time to destroy Nigerian and restore our nation; there must be no disappointment this time around.

Our father Sarowiwa speaks from their military tribunal in 1995 “My lord, since my arrest on the 21st of May, 1994, I have been subjected to physical and mental torture, held incommunicado and denied food for weeks and medical attention for months. My seventy-four year old mother has been whipped and arrested, my wife beaten and threatened with detention, the three telephone lines to my office and residence cut and they remain cut to this day, my office and home have been ransacked on three different occasions and personal and family property, official files and documents taken without documentation. I have been calumniated in the press and on satellite television before the whole world by a Rivers State government anxious to prejudice the mind of the public and to convince the public of my guilt even before trial. Only recently, before the United Nations committee for the Eradication of Racism and Discrimination in Geneva, an official delegation of the Federal Government which included the Special Adviser on Legal Affairs to the Head of State, Professor Yazudu, declared me responsible for the murders which are the subject of this Tribunal, even before Tribunal has found against me or anyone guilty”

Before Ken Sarowiwa made this speech; he was certain the end had come for him; he was only addressing this speech to you Niger Delta Avengers and other faithful freedom Fighters in our land. He was only telling us what he had passed through with hope that we would pay back his oppressors and killers. Nigeria had chance to dialogue with him but because of the hatred they have for us; they murdered him. Nigeria had the chance to address this but they found joy in killing us since 1966; today nothing has changed yet. Ken Sarowiwa is angry with every single one of us; if destruction of pipeline is the life of Nigeria; we have to engage it and destroy everything. If engaging the rampaging soldiers is the option; we must make Sarowiwa proud and give him rest by dismantling this evil called Nigeria that took his life.

It pains me that his life was taken which the current President has a hand in, but it aches my heart that he passed through a lot of State humiliations, his properties stolen and wife molested if not raped. He was denied food and our father died a hungry man, they respected not his rights nor considered a good health before his murder. His mother was whipped and arrested, his home burgled and many things stolen. Ken Sarowiwa was treated like a petty criminal for fighting what is right and I tell you; he has done his part and it is wise to learn and fill the gaps he left. Ken Sarowiwa will be betrayed if Nigeria is allowed to thrive after everything he passed through. They can never make Sarowiwa a State hero, only your Biafra can make him that and give him peace. We must understand what is before us and strive to make the difference our fathers could not make. No negotiations whatsoever would solve our problem, only a sovereign state where there shall be no minority or internal interference, and Sarowiwa will rest in peace.

Sadly, in recent time, I have only heard about GLJM going about the agitation though with a different reason; while Avengers and CLM that have the legacy of Ken Sarowiwa have not sustained our peak expectation. I am not rejoicing at the letter that was lodged to Buhari; I need more than words because I have boasted so much that we shall get it right this time around. Nigeria is not a State common sense prevails and this is why dialogue will not work. Let the boom! be multiplied this time that it shall create a quick rhythm that we can dance. Hence boom is the only thing that cuts the life of Nigeria; you must continue it until we take away the life they took from Sarowiwa. Until Nigeria dies; Sarowiwa will keep suffering in death. They are also killing our people and it is high time we thought of engaging the soldiers than dying helplessly.

BIAFRA: Buhari is bastardising the constitutional democracy. A judge will make his judgement based on the evidence and petitions put forward by the defence and prosecution counsel Our fundamental constitutional rights are being bastardised in a democracy. DSS are lap dogs for Buhari; they go about humiliating, victimising and carrying unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional arrest and detainment of anyone who is not in Favour of Buhari.
I can't believe all this is happening in a democratic system of government. Why should the government take somebody to court and then refuse to obey the ruling of the same court? The truth remains that the agitation for the restoration of Biafra is a divine mandate, it has come even in the wave of Buhari's secret agenda of Islamising Biafrans.
Enough is enough, no amount of killing can subdue this agitation because even in the space of several killings that has been met with them, they have continued without fear.

In fact it has made us stronger. But it should be on record that the Nigeria government has continued to exercise their rascality and has now gotten to the point of arresting judges who ruled against them in their continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, whose only offence was demanding the freedom of his people. I have said it times without numbering that Nigeria is an evil contraption and the level of corruption that breeds in it is insurmountable and has destroyed the polity.

Nnamdi Kanu is destroying it Further with the truth. He said that he would destroy Nigeria with the truth and that is what he has continued to do. Also, Buhari taught by abducting him, he will erase the quest for restoration of Biafra but instead it has waxed longer and stronger and will continue until the needful is done. All hell will let loose if while he has been incarcerated he dies. Therefore Buhari you should know by now that you are a failure for with one Biafran you have killed, tens of millions have emerged. There is no reason Biafra will not be restored. All hail Biafra.

The Ijaw people want the people of Niger Delta to be allowed to control their resources 

 An Ijaw group asked President Buhari to forget about oil in the Niger Delta region and look for alternative source of income 

The group said the Nigerian government has failed the region 

The Ijaw People Development Initiative (IPDI), has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to allow the Niger Delta people to freely control their resources as it is practiced in developed nations. 

Austin Ozobo, the national president of the group, in a statement issued on Sunday, October 2, said Niger Deltans want indigenous freedom. He said after feeding the nation for years, the region should be allowed to have total control over their resources, Vanguard reports. 

Buhari gets warning from Niger Delta The statement read: 

  • “If independence means freedom, then Niger Delta should be free from the age- long captivity, as Nigeria celebrates her independence. Nigeria cannot pretend to celebrate her independence and refused to grant her captives freedom. It is satanic and hypocritical.We have lost confidence in the false contraption called Nigeria. “Nigeria was freed from captivity by her British colonial masters, Niger Delta has been colonized for over 56 years, Nigeria should be ready to free her captive as she was colonized and freed from her colonial masters.” 


The group asked Buhari to look for alternative source of income to run his government and forget about oil in the Niger Delta as the people have decided to manage their resources to develop themselves. “We do not need Nigeria government to develop us any longer. 

Nigeria government has failed the region, After 56 years of independence and 58years of oil exploitation in the region. No successive government has developed the region. 

“We have seen that it is only the people of Niger Delta can develop themselves so that we want our resources. Nigeria government should be in sober reflection of the sorrowful state of the country and should stop frivolous celebrations,” Ozobo added. 

Meanwhile, Chief Edwin Clark, the Ijaw national leader, in a recent interview said there was need for the federal government to dialogue with the militants.
