Kanu and colleagues |
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra is now in court with his colleagues, answering to accusations of treason by Muhammadu Buhari’s Nigerian government.
After a Brief Delay, at about 9: 52am, the Judge, John Tosho came into the court room, and took some time to await the prosecutors from the State Security Service (SSS) and the accused persons. Then at about 10: 06am, the SSS men came in with them, Nnamdi Kanu and his other colleagues.
The prosecuting lawyer announced that he came with his witnesses, that they refused to come forward to testing, fearing for their lives. He said they complained of receiving threats from Biafrans and would not want to come out without cover insisting that their lives were worth more to them than the trial. He said they want the court to grant them some secrecy so that they would be able to communicate through writing on paper.

Kanu: feeling good in court |
Earlier, the SSS denied Biafrans entrance into the court room, when IPOB lawyer Ejiofor asked that they be allowed to witness the case of their brother. But Ejiofor reminded them that the judge had granted that as long as the court was empty that the people should be allowed to go in and witness the proceedings.
